About the Capuchin Sisters
The Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth is a new community of apostolic - contemplatives following in the footsteps of St. Francis of Assisi. Like the Poverello they have a great devotion to our Blessed Mother and complete fidelity to the Holy Roman Catholic Church.

The Sisters wear a simple but dignified habit. It consists of a brown tunic tied with a cord and a black veil (the novices wear a white veil). As a sign of their devotion and love for Our Lady, a wooden rosary hangs from their cords. The cord has three knots that represent the promises the Sisters make in their Religious profession - poverty, chastity and obedience.

Some people wonder why anyone would want to live such a life. I look at the joy and happiness that the Sisters exhibit and it is evident why they have accepted God's call.

Jesus tells us how He rewards people like the Sisters: "There is no one who has given up house or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God who will not receive back an overabundant return in this present age and eternal life in the age to come. (Lk 18:29)"

"In their life and apostolate, the Sisters will strive to live the spirituality of Nazareth so dear to the heart of St. Francis of Assisi.
It was in Nazareth that Jesus lived His hidden life, where our Lady received her call, and it was the place that Jesus was identified with at the cross."
